My 2008 striped bass surf fishing season is officially over (I'm already missing it).  One interesting thing that I noticed while looking back at my season is that it began very close to where it started.   I caught my first bass on April 27th at a small creek inside Shinnecock Bay in Southampton NY and I caught my last fish on November 30 just outside the Shinnecock Bay inlet.  The first fish was caught on a yellow and white Hollow Fleye and my last was caught on a 1 1/2oz white bucktail and both fish were about 20 inches.  I'm working on a write up of my entire season and will post later this week.
